This is one of the pictures of bruises that my daughter's father sent her to me with. When she was asked what happened, she was too afraid to say anything. Her sister told how she was crying and that made her father angry, so he grabbed her and threw her into a chair. Due to the fact that the girls' were four years old when this happened, CPS wouldn't believe the story by itself. By the time they investigated, the bruises had faded. They dismissed it as unsubstanciated.
Notice the hand print on her shoulder and the two red marks on her back.
Another day that she came home with bruises. Multiples are twice as likely to be abused and the abuser will usually focus on one child.
